some people think that not braking makes you faster. i think they are wrong: braking late is what makes you fast. and of course knowing just how long you can wait before you hit the levers.

hope makes beautifully machined one-piece calipers with 4 pistons – of course different sized.

i like the gold piston covers. the fact that the calipers are made of one piece makes them very rigid. as you can see there is also no additional adaptor, making the system even stiffer. setting up needs a bit more diligence, though.

i use 200mm disks front and 180mm rear. the bigger rear does not so much increase braking power (there is not too much you can apply in the rear anyway) but thermic stability.

the front is not as ‘digital’ as the hayes – that is the main advantage of the dual sized pistons – but in terms of absolute stopping power superior to the hayes.
