so many people want to do this. we know because they tell us, generally when we tell them what we are about to do next year.
which is: i will take a career break – a.k.a. leave without pay – until february 2019 (yes, that is the year after next!), natalie will go to distance school which in years past used to be called the ‘school of air’ and kris will go from a big house on the beach with a pool to a tiny little space which at times may be parked on the beach right next to the biggest pool in the world – the sea.
we don’t really have a schedule yet, only a broad idea about how we are going to go about it. first we will go riding, canberra, thredbo, maybe mount buller.
then we’ll slowly work our way around australia, melbourne, adelaide, across the nullarbour plane to perth. we will spend a lot (!) of time on western australia, it is one of my favourite places. natalie can feed the dolphins in monkey mia and hopefully with the manta rays and the whale sharks in coral bay.
then we’ll drive along the north coast of wa and visit all the cool national parks there: karijini, kimberley, the bungle bungles and then into the north of the northern territory. then we could either keep going towards the east coast along the savannah way or south towards alice springs, uluru, coober pedy, flinders ranges.
12 months on the road and not a single day ina suit.
i can’t wait!
