what were you thinking, specialized? seriously! you can call it titanium all you want, we know brown when we see it. i don’t mean to say all bikes should be painted – or anodized – black or silver, or pink if it is a woman specific bike, but brown should be banned from any designers palette. was it an order for the military that got canned? did you guys find an especially cheap batch of brown powder?
brown.
never mind. there is always hope. in this case red anodized. the shimano hub spesh chose for the rear wheel is much better suited as … a boat anchor, i guess. with all that weight it is little wonder spesh had to go for the dt x430 rims, which are a bit like thongs on a mountaineer preparing to climb mount everest.
matches the front specialized (technically dt swiss) 25 mm through axle hub. it also matches the dt ex 5.1 rim that is going to be mated with it.
there is also a set of hope mono m4 coming, to replace the jucy sevens.
still, i love the long stanchions and the triple clamps. a bit like a dirtbike. kris’ new bike is much prettier.
it is, after all, a girl specific bike. but you can still see the stumpy heritage, can you?
the first family outing with the new bikes. natalie likes them, too. and we all look stupid with the bike helmets. at least i don’t wear lycras.
and i hope the thieving bastards who visited us last time don’t read this.
