with almost all the prep work done it was time to install that tank.
a few more little tweaks, like the cable routing on top. the thick one on the right is for the water coming from the internal sink, the thinner one for the overflow and ventilation and the cable comes from the sender. the one on the left would typically deal with the water from the internal shower (which we don’t have) but I want to use it to connect it to the outdoor sink.
it’s those intimate moments when a man bonds with his van. on the back, in the dirt (i was half expecting the passing cars to run over my legs), trying to hold up the tank with my knee (the jack was just a bit too short to fully lift it up) while holding the bolt from the top and attaching a washer, a spring washer and a nut from below. if i can learn to sing a jolly song at the same time i’m ready for a talent show.
the tank is in place! the bash plat looks pretty decent, i’m sure a few outback roads will change that quickly.
the connection has been made, water is now flowing into the tank. woohoo!
and this is the other side, whenever the tank needs draining. i’m rather pleased with the result. the other side still needs to be done, that won’t be as simple, feeding the hose through behind the wheel well, outside the reach of anything that could cut the hose.
but i already have an idea that i think might just work …
