it’s amazing how you don’t notice kids growing up. i mean you really don’t see how they get taller when you have them beside you every day. the rate at which you need to buy new clothes offers some hints, e.g. when the pants you just bought a month ago hardly cover the top of the socks.

another way to figure it out is when the bike the little ones could hardly swing their legs over is suddenly just the right size.

which means it is only a question of time when that one will be too small, too. we noticed that when nat sat on her old commencal which is now well and truly too small (good thing it is absolutely the right size for macey).

which means we may have to think about a successor. again.

good thing the gentleman fist pumping nat here after her flow race run had a fork for sale, exactly the one i was after: a pike, just like the one i am running myself. and i just happened to have a monarch shock in the garage that wasn’t doing much (since it was replaced by the vivid) and then there are also the syntax wheels that are out of work since the enves came along. a shame really.

i wonder if we could make something from all those bits and bobs. i would love to build another bike with – and for! – nat.

something … aqua maybe? and christmas is just round the corner, too.
