kris helped me take a photo of the bike – the first since it’s done.
for now at least. i must say i really enjoy the upgraded suspension, even at the low speeds i can go around town here the suspension is light years ahead of the showa / sachs combination the bike came with.
the front lets you know what is going on on the road but just so you get the idea, never harsh or threatening in any way. even one of the unpleasant sections of road around here that is made up of roughly joined concrete slabs feels just as smooth as any other stretch of road.
the rear is nothing short of amazing: it feels like it is just gliding along. as far as i am concerned the upgrade was well worth the effort (not to mention the money).
the wheels are harder to assess, i think the impact of the reduced unsprung weight and rotating masses is much harder to feel at city speeds. i do remember that at (german) highway speeds turning in was becoming an effort, i’m sure the forged oz rims would come into their own over there. here in oz they mainly look really good.
i got a few more ideas, mostly involving carbon fibre bits, maybe a few things machined from billet aluminium.
let’s see.
