it’s been a very long time since i last raced in a rally – i mean really raced. and the rally was the type of racing i enjoyed most.
that’s maybe because i’m not a very fast rider, but when i took my time and got the navigation right i did actually do fairly well at the rallys.
i’ve just registered for the condo 750, a rally in the west of new south wales, in condobolin. 2 days, overall about 900km, apparently more than 700km timed stages, so overall double the longest rally in hungary i can remember.
so now i better get all my stuff in order. luckily i did not sell my rally gear, the roadbook and the odo. these things are actually quite expensive to replace, and so far all i had to do was replace some smaller parts on the md roadbook, and order a new sensor cable for the imo.
on the weekend i bent a bracket for the roadbook and the imo, and built that strange looking contraption underneath is going to save me a lot of time when i need to stick the pages of the roadbook together and mark them up. i’ve you’ve done this before you’ll know what i’m talking about.
so all i need to do is get fit. i got 2 months left.
